Police: Suspect in ‘Ghostface’ mask steals 17 packs of cigarettes in lieu of register cash

MILFORD, Mass. (WLNE) — Halloween was over a month ago, but not all of the masks have been packed up.
An armed suspect wearing a “Ghostface” mask robbed a gas station of 17 packs of cigarettes after an unsuccessful grab at register cash, according to the Milford Police Department.
Police responded to Riverside Gas on South Main Street at 7:22 Sunday night for an armed robbery report.
An employee told arriving officers that the suspect entered the store wearing a mask from the popular “Scream” movie series and brandishing a firearm.
The suspect unsuccessfully attempted to take money from the cash register, stole several packs of cigarettes and exited the store, according to Milford PD.
Multiple Milford police units were deployed to search for the suspect, including detectives, K-9 and the department’s special operations team.
A Massachusetts State Police K-9 unit assisted in the effort.
Officers located a male subject matching the suspect’s description on Green Street at approximately 8:10 p.m.
Adam Busuito, 34, of Milford, was arrested after an on-scene investigation.
During a subsequent search, officers located a BB gun behind a Honey Dew Donuts on South Main Street, according to Milford PD.
A Ghostface mask and clothing matching items worn by the suspect were found in a parking lot by K-9 Titan, according to police.
Busuito is facing a long list of charges in the incident:
- Robbery, armed and masked
- Assault to rob, armed
- Dangerous weapon, carry
- Disorderly conduct
- Disturbing the peace
- Resist arrest
- Assault and battery on police officer
- Attempted larceny
- Larceny under $1200
- Assault with dangerous weapon
- Threat to commit crime
- Trespass
Busuito is also charged stemming from an outstanding armed robbery warrant from Boston District Court.
