Chilly week still ahead for Southern New England
Heads up as you’re getting on the road today– there may still be a few icy patches, especially in northern/western Providence County. Temperatures this morning on are on either side of freezing. By the afternoon, we’ll only be in the upper 30s/low 40s, and with the wind it will feel like we’re in the mid 30s. On the bright side, it’ll be a mostly sunny day, but you’ll want layers along with the sunglasses!
Overnight, we’re back down into the upper 20s, and highs on Thursday afternoon will once again be around 40 degrees. A cold front will move through the region on Thursday afternoon, driving more clouds as well as a stray shower or flurry midday. It’ll be breezy as well.
After the front is gone, the cold air funnels in and that’s the big weather story for the end of the week! We’ll wake up to lows in the teens on Friday morning, and despite the sunshine, highs will only be in the upper 20s/low 30s on Friday afternoon!
Overnight/early Saturday morning, we’re keeping an eye on a quick-moving area of low pressure that may throw a shower/mix our way early in the day. Otherwise, Saturday will be partly sunny and cool, with highs around 40. Sunday will be similar- partly sunny, and near 40 degrees.
