Residents weigh in on expansion, improvements to RI train service

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island Department of Transportation is mulling big additions to state train service and is seeking public input on the matter.

RIDOT will host the first of three planned public meetings Wednesday night at the Sawtooth Building in Warwick at 5:30 p.m.

The building is at 65 Centerville Road.

Expanding the commuter rail reach to Westerly has been debated, along with upgrading TF Green’s train station to accommodate Amtrak service.

ABC6 asked Providence commuters for their thoughts on RIDOT train service and how it could be improved or changed.
