U.S. Coast Guard rescues fisherman off Block Island coast

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE)- The U.S. Coast Guard Air Station rescued a fisherman on Saturday.

The Coast Guard Air Station in Cape Cod said they successfully completed a medevac for a 50-year-old fisherman who was having stroke-like symptoms.

The man was saved southwest of Block Island.

The fisherman was transported to Rhode Island Hospital for treatment.
