High school in Fall River given shelter-in-place order after threat

FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) — The Fall River Police Department said that Durfee High School was put into shelter-in-place status after receiving a threat Thursday.

The department said that officers and school administrators performed an investigation and believe that the threat was a “swatting-style call.”

“We ask the public to refrain from responding to or approaching the school, as doing so may create unnecessary complications and traffic congestion,” the department also said.
