Suspect in deadly Hopkinton pedestrian crash held without bail
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — A Hopkinton woman with over 100 arrests on her record is being held without bail after police say she struck and killed a man walking his dogs Saturday morning.
41-year-old Shannon Godbout allegedly left her lane of travel on Spring Street in Hopkinton Saturday morning and struck 70-year-old Roderick MacLeod, according to Hopkinton police.
MacLeod later died from his injuries.
Police said that they found narcotics and distribution materials in Godbout’s car at the scene.
Godbout appeared in court without an attorney and did not enter a plea.
She is charged with possession with intent to distribute, her third plus such offense, according to Hopkinton police.
She is also charged with driving to endanger resulting in death in the incident.
The case is expected to be moved to Rhode Island Superior Court.
