EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — East Providence Mayor Bob DaSilva said that a road collapsed while the city’s water department was responding to a water main break on Saturday morning.

DaSilva said the break appeared to have been causing a cavity in the road for “some time” causing the road to collapse under a truck.

There were no injuries and a crew was being dispatched to remove the truck.

Four homes would be without water while the main was being fixed.
