Winter storm set to bring snow to Southern New England
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — It’s a little late for a white Christmas, but snow is coming to Southern New England.
RIDOT spent much of Friday getting prepped for the storm, which is set to bring a few inches of snow for most of our area.
Trucks were out pretreating roadways with a salt solution, and RIDOT said salt was also getting restocked at its facilities throughout the day — about 60,000 tons worth.
188 trucks will be on the road throughout the storm, according to the department, which advised drivers not to pass plows when they’re out on the roads.
The agency expects more snow in the southwestern part of Rhode Island, wrapping up around 6 a.m.
