MBTA: Fare gates activated at Boston’s South Station

BOSTON, Mass. (WLNE) — The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority said fare gates at South Station in Boston were activated on Tuesday.

According to the MBTA, riders now must have a valid ticket or pass to board or exit South Station’s track area.

 

The gates will not accept payments from contactless cards or mobile wallets.
