Elderly man injured after hit-and-run in Providence

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Providence Police Department said an elderly man was injured after a hit-and-run Wednesday night.

Police said that the crash happened at the intersection of Washington Street and Empire Street.

The man suffered “significant injuries” including a head laceration.

He was transported to the hospital.

Police were still looking for the vehicle, which was described as a dark-colored sedan.
