New Bedford Police seize vehicle in connection with hit-and-run death

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WLNE) — The New Bedford Police Department said that a vehicle was seized in connection with the death of 33-year-old Nicolassa Ventura Colaj on Jan. 1.

Colaj and her family were exiting a church around midnight when she was hit by an SUV while crossing the street.

Quinn said the SUV then fled the area, and Colaj was transported to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.
