Seekonk firefighters battle house fire

SEEKONK, Mass. (WLNE) — The Seekonk Fire Department said firefighters battled a structure fire in Seekonk on Jan. 6.

Crews responded to a home on Ledge Road round 9:15 p.m. to find an accessory dwelling unit in the backyard on fire.

Firefighters were able to contain the flames and prevent the fire from spreading to the nearby residences.

The department said the ADU suffered smoke, heat, and water damage.

The residents who lived in the secondary unit are displaced.

Nobody was hurt.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
