Second person dies from injuries sustained in Christmas morning Providence fire

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — A second person has died following a Christmas day fire in Providence, according to a representative from the City of Providence.

The fire occurred at 100 Princeton Avenue on the morning of December 25, leaving one person dead and three injured at the time.

The fire was determined to have started in the basement and four occupants were rescued by 50 responding firefighters.

It is unknown if the investigation into the cause of the fire remains ongoing.
