Providence announces summer plans for BankNewport City Center

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE)- The City of Providence announced its summer programming at the BankNewport City Center on Tuesday.

The summer slate is headlined by the debut of Roller Rink Disco and the return of Super Fun Activities Club.

The City Center’s rink will turn into an outdoor roller disco every Thursday and Friday night, starting in June.

The Super Fun Activities Club will start another season of adult outdoor sports. Volleyball pickleball, dodgeball and soccer will be offered Monday and Tuesday nights from 6:30-9 p.m.

The City Center will also be offering movies at the rink every month.

The movie schedule is as follows:

May 15, Mighty Ducks Sunset, 7:59 p.m.

June 26, Frozen Sunset, 8:24 p.m.

July 17, Raya and The Last Dragon Sunset, 8:17 p.m.

August 21, Coco Sunset, 7:36 p.m.

September 18, Soul Sunset, 6:49 p.m.

“Whether you’re looking to lace up your roller skates or watch a movie outdoors, our City Center has exciting outdoor programming for everyone,” said Mayor Jorge Elorza.
