Paralyzed French Bulldog ‘French Fry’ abandoned in Boston park

BOSTON, Mass. (WLNE)- A paralyzed French Bulldog was found after being abandoned at Peters Park in Boston.
The Animal Rescue League of Boston investigating the situation and reviewing surveillance footage to try and identify the dog’s owners.
“French Fry,” the three-year-old French Bulldog was found in late April just outside the dog park area.
Witnesses at the scene had seen a man and woman with the dog before they walked away from her.
They were both wearing masks, which made it difficult for witnesses to get a good look at their faces.
A person found French Fry at the park and brought her to a local veterinary clinic to be looked at.
An official from the Animal Rescue League of Boston says it was clear that the dog was suffering.
Staff at the clinic were able to confirm her hind-limb paralysis. She also was dehydrated, suffered hemorrhaging in her left eye, and had a high temperature.
After being taken to another clinic for further examination, it was determined that she has intervertebral disc disease, which is common for that breed.
The severity of the disease and other life threatening complications had professionals determine that surgery wasn’t an option for French Fry.
Staff used humane euthanasia was in order to end her suffering.
Abandoning an animal is a felony in Massachusetts, punishable by up to seven years in jail and a $5,000 fine.
