Girl nearly abducted in Falmouth, breaks free police say

FALMOUTH, Mass. (WLNE)- A teenage girl was was nearly abducted in Falmouth on Friday night, according to the Falmouth Police Department.

Police say that the 16-year-old was walking home after work at around 10:30 p.m. when a black SUV started following her on Shore St.

The driver eventually pulled up next to her and offered her a ride home, she declined and kept walking.

She continued her walk onto Clifton Ave. when she heard a car door close. She looked over towards the noise and saw the driver of the SUV.

He tried to pull her into the car but she was able to break free and escape.

The teen said the car made a squeaking noise. She also described the driver as a 45-50-year-old white male who was about six feet tall, overweight, and had a deep voice.

He was wearing a black shirt with dark pants.

The girl mentioned that the man’s hair was short if not balding.
