PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – New Year’s Eve celebrations started early at Providence Children’s Museum with a special event for kids. The new year was rung in at noon with a special “Noon Year” ball drop.
Special guest Mayor Jorge Elorza and his 16-month-old son Omar led the countdown to the ball drop.
“People are always looking for a nice family-friendly thing to do, especially when you have little kids. What a better way to do it than right here at the Children’s Museum,” said Elorza. “The kids are having a great time. Families are together. It’s a perfect way to ring in 2020.”
Hundreds of kids came out with their parents for the family-friendly event.
