Freetown child rapist sentenced to prison

FREETOWN, Mass. (WLNE)- A Freetown man was sentenced to serve eight to 12 years in state prison last week, after raping his girlfriend’s young daughter.

Travis Taylor, 51, plead guilty to raping a child, and idecent assault and batter on a person under the age of 14, in Fall River Superior Court on June 17.

The girl’s mother found Taylor molesting the girl when she walked into her home on December 3, 2019.

Investigators learned that multiple sexual assaults had taken place after a speaking with the victim. Lab testing confirmed what the victim said, when investigators found Taylor’s semen on the child.

“The defendant took advantage of his access to the young child and sexually assaulted her. Fortunately. the victim’s mother came home and caught the defendant in the act” District Attorney Thomas Quinn said.
