Something fishy, No tuna DNA found in Subway’s tuna sandwiches

PROVIDENCE, R.I (WLNE) – A New York Times lab test found something fishy about Subway Tuna sandwiches, in that they have “no amplifiable tuna DNA” in them at all.

The New York Times had gathered sandwiches (about 60 inches worth of tuna) from three different Subway locations in the Los Angeles area.

According to the lab tests, the tuna was either so heavily processed that the DNA wasn’t identifiable, or that no tuna at all was used.

In a statement from Subway, they say they use skipjack and yellowfin tuna and there is “simply no truth to the allegations.”

Subway says it uses the skipjack and yellowfin tuna and that there’s “simply no truth to the allegations.”

Subway faces a lawsuit filed in U.S District Court for the Northern District of California that was filed earlier this year for alleging the ingredient “tuna” actually contains none at all.
