FOXBORO, Mass. (WLNE) — Football is finally back in Foxboro and for many Pats fans, that means starting day with a good meal at a certain diner minutes from Gillette.

When in Foxboro on game day, you can always count on the Common’s Neighborhood Eatery to be open for a pre-Patriots meal.

"There are times when the dining room is just a sea of blue, everybody’s got shirts on," says Alfred Mazeiko, owner of the restaurant.

The restaurant is decked out in red, white and blue and almost every customer is wearing Patriot gear.

"You can throw a baseball pretty much and hit the stadium from here, so you’d be hard pressed to find somebody that wasn’t on board," says Mike Dumas of Foxboro.

And on the menu, the Patriot waffle.

"It’s a red, white and blue waffle so we distinguish as the Patriots waffle," says Mazeiko.

Game day or not, most of the customers are regulars and it’s the neighborhood feel that keeps many coming back day after day. For Charlie  Bridgman, who order the Patriot waffle today, decade after decade.

"You can sit at the counter and there’s always somebody you know," says Bridgman.

And sometimes that somebody just might be a Patriot.

"We had a couple of the come in yesterday.  Danny Amendola comes in, Julian Edelman comes in, Nate Ebner," says Mazeiko.

Customers say there’s nothing better than enjoying breakfast the day after a win, certainly what everyone is hoping for tomorrow.
