PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WLNE) — Crews were on the scene Tuesday morning of a fire in a building that houses several businesses including a gun shop and an antique store.
The fire started at Lost Treasures Antique Store on Middle Street right off 95 at approximately 6:30 a.m. Tuesday.
Flames climbed the back of the building and made its way into the attic, but crews were able to contain it to that space.
It took firefighters 20 minutes to bring it under control. There was nothing on the first floor that was damaged by the fire, but it did sustain water damage.
With contents of the building, it could have been an extremely hazardous situation.
“The problem is with this building that we found as you can see it’s a gun store there was ammunition inside which was never compromised we contain the fire to the attic area,” said Chief William Sisson; Pawtucket Fire Department.
The second alarm fire sent three firefighters to the hospital with minor injuries. It is still under investigation.
