Shark bites paddle board at Marconi Beach in Wellfleet, person on board uninjured

WELLFLEET, Mass. (WLNE) – A shark bit a stand-up paddle board at Marconi Beach in Wellfleet Wednesday morning.
The person on the paddle board was not bit by the shark.
The incident occurred around 10:00 a.m. approximately 30 yards off-shore in 3 feet of water, 50 to 75 yards south of the lifeguard-protected beach.
The shark bite happened during high tide in calm seas, according to a statement from the Cape Cod National Seashore.
Seals were found swimming nearby.
The National Seashore, the Massachusetts Division of Marine Fisheries, and the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy are currently investigating the incident.
Marconi Beach is currently closed to swimming.
