REHOBOTH, Mass. (WLNE) — Rehoboth firefighters and emergency crews from surrounding towns responded to a fire resulting from an explosion at a home Sunday morning.
The call came in for an explosion at 257 Anawan St. around 10:30 a.m. Sunday.
Fire officials on the scene say three people were transported to the hospital after an explosion came from an area of the house where the hot water heater and other appliances are located.
One firefighter was transported to the hospital for heat exhaustion, and two of the three people who were in the house were transported to the hospital with injuries.
The exact cause of the explosion is still being investigated, but fire officials say it does not appear suspicious.
The building has a Borges Auto sign in front, but officials say the business is no longer located there and it is now a residence.
