Police chase 15-year-old on stolen motorcycle through three towns, ending with crash in Taunton

REHOBOTH, Mass. – A 15-year-old on a stolen motorcycle led police on a chase through Rehoboth, Dighton, and Taunton Tuesday evening.

At approximately 6:55 p.m., Rehoboth Police responded to Route 44 after reports of a stolen motorcycle traveling west.

Police located the bike and tried stopping it, but the male driver failed to stop.

A pursuit ensued through the three towns of Rehoboth, Dighton, and Taunton, and ended when the 15-year-old crashed the motorcycle on Cohannet Street in Taunton.

The youth was transported to Hasbro Children’s Hospital where he was treated for a minor injury and later released.

The 15-year-old is set to appear in Taunton Juvenile Court Wednesday morning on charges of Receiving a Stolen Motor Vehicle, Negligent Operation of a MV, Unlicensed Operation, Speeding, and other motor vehicle offenses.

The incident is still under investigation.
