VERNON, C.T. (WLNE) — An Attleboro woman and Pawtucket man were arrested by Connecticut State Police early Monday evening, after troopers discovered materials necessary for ‘cooking’ meth.
Jennifer Jette, of Attleboro, M.A., and Jay Waterman, of Pawtucket, R.I., were seen driving at a high rate of speed, and swerving on I-84 West when troopers initiated a traffic stop around 5:28 p.m.
During the stop, troopers believed that narcotics were possibly inside the vehicle. Jette granted permission to search the vehicle, where marijuana, prescription amphetamines and Suboxone sublingual film were seized.
From there, responding troopers also discovered items consistent with being used in a "one pot" methamphetamine lab.
“Troopers seized muriatic acid, lye, camping fuel, a hot plate, lithium batteries and other items used to "cook" meth, all of which had been recently purchased, and approximately 12.5 grams of cut-up pseudoephedrine pills,” said Connecticut State Police.
Jette was charged with:
- Speeding.
- Failure to Drive in Proper Lane.
- Failure to Keep Narcotic in Proper Container.
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
- Conspiracy to Commit/Unauthorized Manufacture of Narcotics/Hallucinogen/Amphetamines.
Waterman was charged with:
- Conspiracy to Commit/Unauthorized Manufacture of Narcotics/Hallucinogen/Amphetamines.
Both are scheduled to appear in Rockville Superior Court at the end of August.
