PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – An improperly mounted E-Z pass transponder could end up costing you big time.
The Rhode Island Turnpike and Bridge Authority has set an August 21st deadline for drivers to make the necessary changes.
Those found in violation will be charged a higher toll fee.
The fee will go up from $.83 for in-state drivers and $.91 for out of state drivers to $4!
The campaign aims at reducing congestion and back ups caused at the Newport Bridge tolling plaza due to improperly or un-mounted E-Z passes.
