Police investigate shooting and stabbing in Providence

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Providence Police Department is investigating a shooting and stabbing that sent two Worcester men to the hospital Sunday morning.

Police say shots were fired during a large disturbance on Garnet Street Sunday. This incident happened as the area nightclubs were let out.

A 24-year-old man was shot in the foot and a 22-year-old man was stabbed in the chest.

The injuries are not life threatening.
