CRANSTON, R.I. (WLNE) — Eight teens are now facing charges for last week’s fight at the Rhode Island Training School that sent six people to the hospital.
Rhode Island State Police say the charges range from assault with a deadly weapon to assault on a correctional officer to vandalism.
Last Wednesday, residents turned on the staff members and beat them using brooms and chairs. Four staff members were hurt and two residents there were treated at the hospital.
The executive director of the training school stepped down Wednesday and Governor Raimondo has ordered a 60 day review of policy.
