NORTH PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – Parents in North Providence will soon have a chance to get their questions answered about radon testing at several schools.
The School Committee and Superintendent will openly address the concerns during Wednesday night’s school committee meeting.
Earlier the district announced it would re-test radon levels at Whelan Elementary School over cancer concerns.
Tests last year showed two rooms at the school with radon levels above the EPA standard.
Radon exposure has been linked to cancer.
The new tests will take place in September of 2017.
