Police pursue suspect to Providence Place Mall after gun incident

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Police are investigating a crash near the Providence Place Mall that may be linked to an earlier gun incident when a suspect fled police.

Police say the pursuit began at the Arbor Glen Apartments Monday afternoon when police received a call about a person waving a handgun near the complex.

The suspect attempted to flee the scene, and police followed them to the Providence Place Mall. The car hit another vehicle and damaged one of the entrance gates.

The case remains under investigation.
