9-year-old boy in stable condition after being struck by vehicle

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – A 9-year-old boy is in stable condition after being hit by a car Thursday evening, according to Providence police.

The boy was struck while crossing Hawkins St. near Branch Ave. around 7 p.m.

Authorities said in a tweet the Traffic Bureau is investigating, and the driver is being questioned by police.

The boy was transported to Hasbro Children’s Hospital.
