BELLINGHAM, M.A. (WLNE) — The victim of a drowning in Lake Hiawatha has been identified said a press release issued by Worcester County District Attorney Joseph D. Early, Jr.

The victim has been identified as 42-year-old Martin Armando Celado-Herrera, of Woonsocket, was pronounced dead on Tuesday after his body was pulled from the lake around 11:30 p.m.

“State Police Detectives assigned to the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office responded to the lake to assist Bellingham police officers and firefighters after witnesses called police to report a man in the water around 8:30 p.m.,” the release said.

Authorities say Celado-Herrera was not wearing a floatation device prior to his canoe capsizing, and he could not swim.
