Providence, R.I. ( WLNE)– Four individuals have been charged with using the U.S. Postal Service to distribute over 50 kilos of cocaine, according to a statement issued by Rhode Island U.S. attorney Aaron L. Weisman.
Arcadio Torres, 38, of North Providence, Nelson Carvalho, 45, of Cranston, and George Mojica, 40, of Central Falls, were accused in federal court of using priority mail service to ship the drugs from Puerto Rico to a variety of addresses in Rhode Island.
The defendants are also accused of using the postal service to launder money, sending “tens of thousands of dollars in drug trafficking proceeds to individuals in Puerto Rico,” according to the statement.
An arrest warrant has been issued for the fourth defendant.
