North Kingstown man’s lost $100 bill returned to him by Kohl’s employee

NORTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. (WLNE) – A North Kingstown man had his $100 bill returned to him after he dropped the cash in a Kohl’s while Christmas shopping.
Adam Littlefield was shopping for his family at the department store Sunday morning when he got to the register and realized his money was gone.
“When I went to the register to go pay for my gifts, I was like, oh no. Where’s my 100 dollar bill?”
It had fallen out of his pocket somewhere in the store.
“I spent about 25, 30 minutes looking for it and after that, I kinda just considered it a loss,” said Littlefield, who went home and told his mother, Patty, what happened. She decided to call the store and ask if anyone had found it.
The store told them an employee named Andrew had turned in the $100 bill to the front desk. The employee, Kohl’s management tells us, is a college student who works weekends. He turned it in right away after finding it in an aisle.
“I left the store roughly around 11:30. By 1:00 that day I had my $100 back!”
Littlefield said he gave Andrew a part of the $100 to say thank you and to pay it forward.
“It’s a really rewarding feeling just being able to shake his hand and really look him in the eye and say thank you.”
Littlefield, a commercial fisherman, said money is tight this time of year.
“$100 to me could be the difference between putting groceries in my house or putting gifts under the tree for the kids.”
He shared the act of kindness on a Facebook page for North Kingstown residents. It had over 900 likes in just a few hours. He hopes the story will inspire others to do the right thing this holiday season.
“It’s a real uplifting experience to know that there are still some kind people left in this world.”
