Woman taken into custody after stabbing in Providence

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE): A 53-year-old woman was taken into custody after a 27-year-old woman was stabbed on Charles St., according to the Providence Police Department. 

Police responded to reports of a stabbing around 7 p.m. on Saturday night. 

The victim suffered minor injuries and was not taken to the hospital, according to the police department. 

According to the police department, the victim and suspect knew each other.
