EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. – A second mistrial has been declared by a Superior Court judge in the case of a Rhode Island man accused of killing his girlfriend.
The judge made the decision Monday after multiple exchanges of information between prosecution and defense. The judge felt as though the violations were having a cumulative effect on the fairness of the trial.
Jett has already served hearly two decades behind bars for the murder of another girlfriend.
Prosecutors argue that Jett stabbed his girlfriend Michelle Busby to death in August of 2012.
No word on if prosecutors will put him on trial again.
