WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) – The parents of baby Willow Ramos have been officially charged with second degree murder, officials say.
Ryan Beeley, 37, and Mariah Ramos, 34, were indicted by a grand jury on Thursday.
The seven-month-old was found dead in her Warwick home in February; an autopsy revealed the baby died from asphyxia because a person rolled on top of her.
Beeley, Willow’s father, was watching Willow at their home on Airway Road when Willow’s mother, Ramos, came home and found the baby unresponsive.
Willow was rushed to Hasbro Children’s Hospital where she was pronounced dead by medical personnel.
Both parents plead not guilty to the murder charges.
DCYF officials told ABC6 News they’ve been called twice before to investigate concerns of possible child abuse.
No further information is available at this time.
