URI Basketball Home and Away Conference Opponents Announced

KINGSTON, R.I. — The Atlantic 10 home and away match ups for the 2017-18 season have been announced by the conference office.  The league will once again play an 18-game conference slate, with schools facing each opponent once and five teams twice.

Coming off the 2017 A-10 Championship season, Rhode Island will host three of the top five teams in the 2016-17 A-10 standings at the Thomas M. Ryan Center this year.  Three of the home conference opponents appeared in the postseason and four home conference opponents ranked among the top 100 of the NCAA RPI.  The Rams finished with a 25-10 overall record and a 13-5 mark in league play en route to winning the second conference title in program history.

The five teams that URI will play in a home/away format are as follows: Davidson, Dayton, La Salle, Massachusetts, and St. Bonaventure.  Additionally, Rhody will host the following teams in Kingston: Duquesne, George Mason, Richmond and Saint Joseph’s.

The Rams will play single road contests at Fordham, George Washington, Saint Louis, and VCU.  Rhode Island’s complete 2017-18 schedule with dates and times will be announced at a later date.
