The man accused of killing his girlfriend in Fall River faced a judge in Rhode Island
26-year-old Scott Rego was taken right from Rhode Island Hospital where he’s been since Monday night to Providence District Court.
He showed up in a wheelchair and hospital gown.
He’s being charged with murder in the stabbing death of his girlfriend, 36-year-old Kristina Reis.
It happened Monday night at the couple’s Linden Street home. Police say they showed up to find Reis outside on the porch bleeding from the stomach.
She was rushed to the hospital but later died.
Inside the home they found Rego, also bleeding from a stab wound, which they believe he got during the struggle.
He was sent to Rhode Island Hospital and arraigned from his hospital bed.
This afternoon in court he appeared as a fugitive from justice and waived extradition back to Massachusetts. He was later picked up by Fall River Police and taken back there where he will face murder charges.
