Massachusetts VaxBus stops in Taunton

TAUNTON, Mass. (WLNE) – The Massachusetts VaxBus stopped at two locations in Taunton on Monday, where 33 people total were vaccinated.
The VaxBus first stopped at Lenox Green before making its way to Taunton High School, where 18 people got the shot.
The Bus offered both first and second doses of the Moderna and Pfizer vaccines, as well as the one-dose Johnson & Johnson shot. According to the Mayor’s Office, 15 people received their first dose, and seven got their second. Five of those were between the ages of 12 and 17.
“The City of Taunton is grateful to Governor Baker and the Department of Public Health for the opportunity to have the VaxBus come to our city,” said Taunton Mayor Shaunna O’Connell. “As COVID-19 case numbers are once again on the rise, it is more important than ever to get vaccinated. The VaxBus is a safe, convenient option for our local residents.”
The walk-up mobile clinic was open to all, not just Taunton residents.
The VaxBus is a mobile vaccine clinic traveling around the state of Massachusetts in an effort to make the COVID-19 vaccine more accessible. Its next stop is in Middleborough on Tuesday.
