NEW LONDON, Conn. (WLNE) – Hundreds of people cried out, demanding their voices be heard during President Trump’s trip to New London on Wednesday.
“Dump Trump. Dump Trump,” chanted the protesters.
“I think he’s doing a good job,” said a supporter.
“I feel that we’re headed in a very, very bad direction,” said protester.
Protesters and supporters shared a small space together on Wednesday.
Protesters claimed the President’s policies are bad for our country. The best case scenario? They want him impeached. But, they will settle for more democrats on Capitol Hill.
“We’ve got to keep our eyes focused on 2018,” added a protester.
Meanwhile, Trump’s supporters are happy with what the president has accomplished so far.
“We have a constitution and he sticks by our constitution, which was necessary,” said a supporter.
They are also hoping to see more promises he made on the campaign trail come to light.
“Everyone here is incredibly strong in their opinions. But there’s at least one thing they can all agree on.”
“I think everybody wants the best for America.”
Despite the clashing of opinions, the demonstrations were all in all peaceful. In fact, police tell ABC6 News they did not have to make any arrests.
