Mattapoisett police chief retires following OUI charge
MATTAPOISETT, Mass. (WLNE) – The police chief in Mattapoisett is retiring but she’s not leaving on a good note.
Mary Lyons’ retirement comes after she was charged with drunk driving last month.
The 61-year-old was arrested after a Massachusetts State Trooper saw her driving erratically on Route 28 North in Bourne.
She was also cited for a marked lanes violation.
After the incident she was place on administrative leave.
Lyons had served the town for 36 years.
