Providence man arrested after police find narcotics, firearms in motel room

SEEKONK, Mass. (WLNE) – Rafael Velasquez, 48, of Providence, was arrested Tuesday morning after police searched his Motel 6 room and found illegal narcotics and firearms.
Seekonk Police Detectives, Patrol Officers, and a K-9 team found a significant amount of packaged heroin, fentanyl, and cocaine. Two loaded handguns were also found.
Velasquez is being charged with two counts of Possession of Firearms without License, Possession of Ammunition without License, Trafficking a Class A Substance (Heroin/Fentanyl), Trafficking a Class B Substance (Crack Cocaine), Possession of a Class B Substance (Ecstasy), Possession of a Class B Substance (Adderall), and Possession of a Class B Substance (Suboxone).
Velasquez was taken to Taunton District Court for arraignment.
