Hasbro Children’s Hospital hosts “This Is My Fight Prom”

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — It was a rare night out and a welcome distraction for patients at Hasbro Children’s Hospital Thursday night.

They had their own prom night at the Alpine Country Club in Cranston. Around 100 patients and their families were there dressed to impress and dance the night away.

The event was called “This Is My Fight Prom” and was the first of its kind for the patients.

“As a parent, it’s just nice to be able to have a night with my family. You know, going through treatment family gets split up a lot and it’s just nice to be able to let the kids be kids,” said Dominic Lautieri.

The kids even got to take their prom pictures. And of course, the event was completely free.
