Taunton man charged with OUI after passenger exits car and sustains serious injuries

PLAINVILLE, Mass. (WLNE): A Taunton man is charged with OUI after his passenger exited the car, and was found on Route 495 with serious injuries. 

Massachusetts State Troopers say the 26 year old Taunton woman exited the car near exits 14 and 13, around 1:30 a.m. on Sunday. 

The woman was transported to Rhode Island Hospital and is expected to survive. 

Troopers arrested the driver Joseph Monsini, 25, of Taunton, and determined he was under the influence of alcohol. 

Troopers believe the woman exit through the passenger side of the window, possibly while the car was moving. However, the investigation into how and why is still ongoing.
