Fire in Providence displaces six

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – A fire in a multi-unit home caused heavy smoke and fire damage and displaced six people Monday afternoon, authorities say.

According to the Providence Fire Department, crews responded to the three-unit home on Willow Street around 2:30 p.m.

A dog and cat were rescued while firefighters fought the blaze, but one cat still remains unaccounted for.

No other injuries were reported.
