Providence bank sustains heavy damage after car crash

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – A bank sustained heavy damage when a car crashed into the front of it Friday morning.
Around 10: 56 a.m., crews responded to the Santander Bank on Smith Street, for the report of a motor vehicle crash.
Officials told ABC6 News, an elderly woman driving a red Chevy Camaro thought she was pressing the brake, but hit the gas pedal instead, launching her into the front of the building.
Santander Bank was open at the time of the incident.
The operator was taken to Miriam Hospital for an evaluation.
No other injuries were reported.
