FALL RIVER, Mass. – Webster Farrow, 33, of Fall River, will spend 12 to 15 years in state prison for a 2013 non-fatal shooting and home invasion.
Farrow pleaded guilty Monday in Fall River Superior Court to an indictment charging him with armed assault with intent to murder, home invasion, aggravated assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and carrying an illegal firearm.
The shooting and home invasion occurred on July 29, 2013 at approximately 7:30 a.m.
Fall River Police responded to Rodman Street for a shooting, but upon entering an apartment, didn’t find anyone inside.
Officers did notice blood in the living room.
Witnesses told police that they heard gunshots and saw a vehicle leave with the victim.
Police discovered that two friends had taken the male victim to Saint Anne’s Hospital.
More witnesses told police that they heard two gunshots, followed by two black males running from the back of the home.
Upon investigation, friends of the victim told detectives that they heard a knock on their door while inside the apartment.
When they opened the door, they a male yelled “get down, get down” which holding a gun and wearing a bandana over his face.
The male then shot the victim.
A liquor store’s surveillance camera showed a red Hyundai Sonata pulling up at the residence and a passenger getting out of the front seat.
The passenger later identified as Farrow exited the vehicle in a white doo-rag with a firearm.
Another passenger, a woman, exited the car while holding a phone.
After a few minutes pass, Farrow ran back to the car and jumped in, and the car sped away.
Farrow was arrested soon after.
“This was a near fatal assault committed with an illegal firearm that the defendant had no business possessing,” District Attorney Quinn said. “Despite the victim’s lack of cooperation, the defendant was convicted and received a lengthy prison sentence.”
