Three people claiming to be sovereign citizens arrested in Providence with loaded handguns

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – Three armed people claiming to be sovereign citizens were arrested on Westminster Street Friday afternoon, police tell ABC6.
According to Commander Thomas Verdi, two men and one women were in possession of loaded handguns. Verdi said they had walked from the federal post office to Westminster Street, where a witness called the police.
Edward Patterson, 54, was in possession of two handguns and is charged with possession of a firearm without a license.
Charles Jackson, 61 and Kristie White, 46, were also charged with possession of a firearm without a license.
The three appeared before a bail commissioner Saturday morning, posted bail and were released.
They are expected to be seen in Superior Court November 15.
