Woman killed in officer-involved shooting in Saugus

SAUGUS, Mass. (WLNE)- A woman was killed in a police-involved shooting Saturday evening in Saugus.

Massachusetts State Police said their Essex County Detective Unit responded to an officer-involved shooting involving Saugus Police on Alfred Road.

Several patrols were sent to create a perimeter around the scene.

State Police told ABC6 the victim is a 38-year-old woman. The Essex District County District Attorney’s Office is leading the investigation.
